Creating something that is both visually appealing and functional should go hand in hand, at least in my opinion. Throughout my career, I have managed to make this a common standard in my work. When building, responsiveness and user experience are the 2 key elements I factor into my projects.
Throughout the years, I have created over 55 landing pages, 21 emailers, 12 newsletters and assisted in building 8 large client websites ― I actually counted ― all coded with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. These types of projects involved a lot of knowledge of these languages on top of the ability to design.
While working for marketing companies with very different clients, I have learned that it’s never one size fits all. From common name brands to locally owned shops, the vast array of clientele has really given me the ability to design anything for anyone. I enjoy taking part in the entire marketing process.
In 2012, I decided to do the whole college thing and at the end of it I received a Media Arts and Science Bachelor degree specializing in web design and development, and a human computer interaction certificate. Crazy stuff! Apart from typical life goals, my career goal as a designer is to not only design something that looks good, but that is also functional and useful to the user. Ease of use is a key foundation in all of my projects as I seek to improve lives through smart and thoughtful design.
My end goal is to learn everything there is about the marketing industry and be able to master a bit of everything it has to offer. I definitely enjoy my field and am passionate about what I create. When I am not working, you can expect to find me hiking/exploring nature, going to awesome concerts, being a foodie, looking at icicles while standing directly underneath them, and watching The Office for the 10 millionth time.
